Linien Musik
Linien Musik is a software that translates drawn lines into audio.
Additionally to just drawing lines it lets you modify them in a variety of ways, like moving them around or connecting them.
It's best to just try it out or watch the video!
Crazy important warning: Windows users only get the low sample rate of 22kHz to surpress constant buffer underflows. This should be fixed in one of the next versions.
Note: An iPad version already exists and an iPhone version might be available (it's tricky because iPhones have very weak processors). Anyways, wanna be notified if there's updates? Enter your email address here:
More Information
Linien Musik was initially called SoundyThingie and you‘ll see that name pop up all over the place.
It is writen in C++/OpenFrameworks and you can
fetch the code from github.
Development of Linien Musik is an ongoing effort and has eaten up a lot of my and other people's time.
If you appreciate it or made a great song you can
send me an email or
donate a few coins (maybe just don‘t give your waiter a tip tonight and wire the money to me instead).
Needless to say, many people were involved in the making of this app, thank you...
Zach Lieberman, for writing the very first version of this application and sharing his code so freely.
Clemens Mairhofer and
Oriol Ferrer, for the hours of excessive testing and feedback.
My girlfriend, Be Hanke, for feedback, but also for all the patience when I was constantly nerding out about
the current status of the project.
The people of
faxen @
bb15, for the insanely great coffee.
A huge thank you to all the people working on
OpenFramworks.
It is the first time I can actually enjoy C++, so this project would definitely not exist without OF!
Finally,
here's a youtube video by DavidCRoutledge that shows how to
hook linienmusik up to other apps.
